Lauren was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina, she attended Howard University, where Al Freeman, Jr., served two years as President of The Howard Players, and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in Theatre Arts Acting. Lauren received a Masters in Acting from the Yale School of Drama.
